Q104: What are the signs of solvent abuse?

Some of the signs of solvent abuse are similar to those of alcohol abuse such as lack of co-ordination or slurring words.

A chemical smell on a child's breath, changes in sleeping and eating patterns, mood swings (more than usual for teenagers), a rash around the nose and mouth, a constant runny nose, and eye irritation, are all signs of possible substance abuse.
