Q773: What is the law relating to the sale of scrap metal?

Scrap metal dealers must have a licence in accordance with Civic Government Scotland Act 1982, which requires financial records to be kept. The only exemption to this is if the dealer can prove his / her business generates more than £100,000 in income per year.
